The 2021-2022 Season ends with the triumphal "Ode to Joy" chorus from Beethoven's Symphony No. 9, complete with the full symphony, guest soloists, and the Mid-Columbia Mastersingers. We will also explore the Native American legacy of Southern Oregon and beyond with a new piece by composer Ethan Gans-Morse with poetry by Tiziana DellaRovere and special guest artists Dancing Spirit Native American Ensemble.
Concert pianist/composer and Steinway Artist Dr. Karen Walwyn joins the Symphony as the soloist for Florence Price's Piano Concerto in One Movement. The Symphony will also perform the world premiere of a piece by Dr. Walwyn and Shostakovich's Symphony No. 5 in D minor.
