French-Canadian conductor Dina Gilbert is recognized for her infectious energy, the expressive depth of her interpretations, and her innovative programming. She is regularly invited to conduct orchestras across Canada and internationally.

In recent years, she has conducted many of Canada’s leading orchestras, including the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, the National Arts Centre Orchestra in Ottawa, the Hamilton Philharmonic Orchestra, the Orchestre Métropolitain, and the Orchestre symphonique de Québec. In Europe, Dina has appeared as a guest conductor with several orchestras, including the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France, the Orchestre National de Lyon, the Orchestre National de Metz, the Orchestre National des Pays de la Loire, the Orchestre Victor Hugo Franche-Comté, the Gran Teatre del Liceu Symphony Orchestra, and the Sinfonia Varsovia.

Her wide-ranging repertoire spans the great symphonic masterworks, contemporary music, multidisciplinary collaborations, and innovative programming that crosses musical genres. Deeply committed to cultural outreach, Dina has engaged thousands of children across Canada through her interactive Conducting 101 educational workshops. In Walla Walla, she partnered with Rodney Outlaw to create Symphonic Cypher, a collaboration between the Walla Walla Symphony and Walla Walla Community College that brings together orchestral arrangements and live hip-hop performances.

Dina’s recent highlights include a tour with the Orchestre national d'Île-de-France and trumpeter Pacho Flores, culminating in a performance at the Philharmonie de Paris; conducting ten performances of Don Quixote (Martinez/Minkus) with the Orchestre National Bordeaux Aquitaine; and the release of three symphonic recordings with the Orchestre symphonique de Montréal and the Orchestre symphonique de Québec.

The upcoming 2026–2027 season features several performances with the Walla Walla Symphony and the Orchestre symphonique de Montréal, where she will share the stage with pianist Alexandre Tharaud, producer and DJ Apashe, and the ensemble Le Vent du Nord. She will also make her debuts with the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra, the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra, and the Vancouver Island Symphony Orchestra, in addition to collaborating on a production with Théâtre Duceppe in Montréal.

Dina Gilbert earned her doctorate from the Université de Montréal and furthered her training through masterclasses with Kenneth Kiesler, Pinchas Zukerman, Neeme Järvi, and the musicians of the Kritische Orchester in Berlin. Her artistic development was further shaped through mentorship with Maestro Kent Nagano and the Orchestre symphonique de Montréal, where she served as Assistant Conductor in Residence from 2013 to 2016. She also had the opportunity to assist internationally renowned conductors Zubin Mehta and Sir Roger Norrington.

Awarded the 2017 Prix Opus for Discovery of the Year, Dina has received support from the Canada Council for the Arts, the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec, and the Père-Lindsay Foundation.
