Please dress comfortably—we want you to enjoy the music! When you attend a concert, you’ll see all styles of clothing, from formal attire to jeans. Some people enjoy dressing up and making it a festive night, and others dress more casually.

Try to arrive 15 minutes before the start of the concert, adding extra time to allow for parking.

Directions & Parking

For regular symphony concerts (not special events), there is a pre-concert talk that starts shortly after the doors open (usually 6:00pm) and lasts for 20-30 minutes.

If you are late for the concert, ushers will guide you to your seat at a break in the music.

If you wish to leave before the end of the concert, please do so between musical pieces in order not to disturb others.

We welcome your enthusiastic reaction to our performances! The usual custom is to wait until the entire piece is over before clapping, but sometimes it’s difficult to tell. Many pieces of classical music have multiple movements, each movement separated from the next by a pause. If you are unsure, you can wait until other audience members begin applauding.

Most concerts are about 2 hours, including a 20 minute intermission. Some concerts, including the Family Concert, last about one hour with no intermission.

We encourage people of all ages to attend the Symphony as sharing music with the community is our primary goal. A ticket is required for children ages 3 and older, but for all kids under 18 tickets cost as low as $10 for standard Symphony concerts. The Walla Walla Symphony also presents an annual Free Family Concert designed especially for families and young children.

Please silence cell phones and alarms before the performance begins out of consideration for the performers and fellow attendees. We ask that you not text, take pictures, or make video or audio recordings in the concert hall. We encourage you to be present and enjoy the music!

Cordiner Hall is close to downtown Walla Walla where there are restaurants, tasting rooms, and retail stores. Another dining option is Cleveland Commons on the Whitman College campus.

Sweet treats and wine are available for purchase before the concert and during intermission, with proceeds directly benefiting the Symphony.
